Yes, 2 monitors are better than one [via Scoble]. Yes every software developer should have 2. But linking increased lines of code written to having two monitors is a bit much.  Being able to display your mail app or browser or newsreader in a second monitor while you code could mean you are more likely to be distracted for example.  I’m sure there are developers that are quick on the keyboard that can manage switching between apps or between virtual desktops.  You tend to conform to the environment you’re in.  But the environment you want to be in is the one with 2 monitors!
