It seems to me that at the root of the problem you see is the fact that corporations are not owned by the people who work in them. Corporations exist for one purpose only: to turn the efforts of a large number of people into profits for a few.

If you’re not familiar with the Mondragon System you might like to read about it; it presents an alternative to capitalist-based financing and ownership while preserving the attributes of free-enterprise and competition which are vital to efficiency and progress.
